Abreu Vineyards Rothwell Hyde Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2021

A little-known vineyard manager here in Napa Valley also makes some wine on the side. (Just kidding – David Abreu is extremely well known around here. He’s one of the most famous farmers in the industry.) The Abreu Cabernet Sauvignons are some of the most difficult to acquire wines in Napa, and as such, they impose the most exacting standards on themselves. For his top-tier Cabernet, David prefers to bottle the fruit from the oldest vines from his Howell Mountain and St. Helena vineyards. That leaves him with some extremely lovely wine which happens to come from the slightly younger vines: enter Rothwell Hyde. The lion’s share of this Cabernet Sauvignon is sold at Spago in Beverly Hills, but we snagged a few cases for our clients.
