Champagne Pierre Peters Réserve Oubliée Grand Cru NV

The Pierre Péters estate, situated in the heart of the "Côte des Blancs" in the village of Le Mesnil sur Oger, has been a family house for six generations and has produced Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagnes since 1919.  The family maintains 19 hectares of Chardonnay in Le Mesnil sur Oger, Oger, Avize, and Cramant.   Pierre took over for his father Camille in 1944 at the young aged of 24 after his sudden passing, and after his mother's passing in 1949, was solely leading the brand for the next 35 years until he passed it to his son François.

The estate vineyard grows on the chalky hillsides in Côte des Blancs, facing eastward and protected from westerly winds that blow through the area.  Sustainable farming methods are used each vintage to protect the environment and biodiversity within the vineyards. This terroir creates perfect conditions for Chardonnay growing and being raised for "intensely mineral, racy, and finessed character."

Réserve Oubliée is an exceptional blend based on a perpetual reserve wine used for the grower Champagne's nonvintage blanc de blancs.  The reserve includes wines dating almost 40 years back to 1988.  An extra year in tank allows the base wine to develop and mature without creating oxidative characteristics.
