Fieldpoint Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 2024

World-class Sonoma Coast Pinot doesn't just appear — it's earned through years of relationships, trust, and knowing exactly where to look. This inaugural vintage of Fieldpoint came to be because founders Jake Pickett and Morgaen Hoxsey have spent decades in the right vineyards, with the right people, building the kind of access most winemakers never get. At ACME, these are the bottles we pay attention to — the under-the-radar projects from industry veterans who quietly secure extraordinary fruit and let it speak without pretention.

Jake spent nine years crafting elite Pinot Noir with Paul Hobbs, learning exactly what it takes to make great vineyards sing. Today, he leads the winemaking team at Paradigm, where Cabernet may be the focus — but the pull of coastal Pinot never left him. When he decided to return to it, he set two hard rules: work only with vineyards that meet or exceed the standards he’d come to expect, and make one exceptional wine, not a dozen. The result is a Sonoma Coast Pinot that insiders like us know will go the distance.

Jake isn’t working alone. His wife, Morgaen Hoxsey, is a fifth-generation Napa Valley grape grower who helps lead Ghostblock alongside her father and sister. Their family brand recently celebrated its 100th vintage — a century of farming, intuition, and generational stewardship informing every decision in the vineyard and cellar. With Jake’s precision and Morgaen’s legacy, Fieldpoint carries a pedigree you can feel from the first sip!

The debut 2024 vintage comes from three exceptional Sonoma Coast sites — Campbell Ranch and two pedigreed vineyards whose fruit rarely leaves the estate, let alone appears without their name attached. Jake didn’t blend to smooth differences; he blended to amplify them. Each vineyard keeps its voice, yet together they create something rarer than the sum of its parts: tensile, layered, and unmistakably coastal.

The 2024 opens with lifted red cherry, wild raspberry, and crushed rose petal, edged with coastal salinity and forest floor. On the palate, it's both energetic and composed — red currant and spice wrapped around fine-grained tannins, with a subtle thread of cedar and tea leaf carrying through a long, persistent finish. Balanced, nuanced, and impossible to resist, this wine is a big YES and YUM from team ACME!
