Suara Wine Company is the collaboration between Sonoma-based second-generation winemaker Drew Damskey—named one of the San Francisco Chronicle’s Winemakers to Watch—and Sebastian Lane, a Napa Valley cooper, real estate professional, and proprietor of the Depiction wine and art project with his wife, Estelle. With deep family roots in wine (Drew’s father co-founded India’s Sula Vineyards) and decades of industry relationships between them, the pair set out to craft a Chardonnay that overdelivers at every level: sourced from prime vineyard blocks, crafted with meticulous technique, and aged in fine French oak barrels.

The 2021 Seapig Chardonnay captures the Sonoma Coast’s windswept intensity and Russian River Valley precision, drawn from 35-year-old dry-farmed vines harvested early for freshness. Rich yet lifted, it balances plush texture with bright acidity and mineral lift, offering aromas of Granny Smith apple, hyacinth, and jasmine that flow into white pear, lychee, and lime meringue flavors. The finish is seamless, clean, and lingering—proof that this is the rare California Chardonnay that achieves real volume without weight, and delivers serious character for the price.
