In 2021, an exceptional vintage and a rare grower connection opened a new door—a small lot of  Cabernet Sauvignon from a pristine St. Helena vineyard steps from the G.B. Crane parcel. If you’re a fan of The Crane Assembly’s El Coco, the 2021 Disciples Cabernet Sauvignon will feel like discovering a familiar friend with a bold new edge. While El Coco delivers that signature, lush, old-vine richness, Disciples Cabernet turns up the structure and intensity—pure St. Helena fruit, layered with dark berries, spice, and a refined tannin backbone. It’s the same craftsmanship and historic vineyard pedigree you love, now in a 100% Cabernet expression that’s built for both immediate pleasure and graceful aging.

97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petite Sirah, and 1% Merlot. The 2022 Disciples has fresh aromatics of blackberry and raspberry that carry a mineral edge, complemented by hints of red licorice, cinnamon, and a touch of mint. On the palate, the wine is dense and structured with good grip. Flavors of fresh blackberry and black licorice unfold alongside notes of pencil shavings, graphite, and subtle fennel. The purity of fruit is evident, balanced by firm, mouth-coating tannins. The finish is long and persistent, expanding in the back of the mouth with a mouthwatering salinity that is both savory and succulent—evoking the natural freshness of ripe fruit... A nice lift of fresh acidity gives the wine aromatic energy that carries through the end. Very approachable today but has the bones to age 5+ years without worry!
