Remoissenet Bourgogne Rouge 2022

The name Remoissenet is recognized by serious collectors and is synonymous with refined, classic Burgundian wines. Founded in Beaune in 1877, it was run as a négociant and producer by the venerable Roland Remoissenet for the latter part of the 20th century. Retiring in 2005, Remoissenet handed over his estate and vineyards to new owners: a New York financier, Edward Millstein (an avid Burgundy collector), along with Pierre-Antoine Rovani (formerly of the Wine Advocate) and Bernard Repolt (Maison Louis Jadot). With this purchase came the entire contents of the famed, historic cellar—the most extensive cellar of aged Burgundy in the world, which had been in Remoissenet's sole care up until that point. Within these caves, built in the 1300s and connecting the cellar through medieval walls to the town of Beaune itself, lies a treasure trove of historical bottlings, effectively a museum loaded with priceless art.
