Levo Nada Mas White Wine California 2021
- Vintage2021
- VarietyWhite Blend
This wine was quite literally designed and crafted in the pursuit of a most-quenching and refreshing white blend. Vintner Bret Urness and his wife absolutely love devouring the spiciest of foods; however, they often find themselves coming up empty-handed when searching for white wines in their cellar that could relieve the sizzle from those scorching cuisines they love while also providing depth, texture, and delightful aromatics.
With that purely selfish goal in mind, Brett got to the task of searching for and sourcing the lesser-known Rhône white varietals that he imagined could bring the vibrancy, intrigue, and intensity necessary to elevate the spice he loves. 48% Grenache Blanc, 36% Petit Manseng, and 16% Clairette Blanche co-fermented in a concrete egg, where the wine underwent partial malolactic fermentation and remained to age for five months afterward.
If you’re a wimp like me when it comes to spicy food, though, please know that the enjoyment of this wine is not mutually exclusive with sipping it while eating a plate doused in hot sauce. This rich and impactful white wine is an outstanding accompaniment to a late-evening porch swing when that Summer sun refuses to crest over the horizon or as a means to quell the inherent thirst that comes with soaking up the rays poolside or on the beach blanket.
