Charlier et Fils Carte Noire Vallée de la Marne Brut Champagne NV

This cuvee represents the very spirit of Charlier & Fils. 60% Pinot Meunier, 20% Pinot Noir, and 20% Chardonnay, the base harvest is 2015 (50%) and the balance is an even split between 2013 and 2014. The wine is aged on its lees for 4 years, which is more than two times longer than the appellation requirement of 15 months. The full diversity of the Pinot Meunier enhances all the fruitiness and its complexity. The nose reveals white fruits (apple, white peach) joined by spiced nuances. On the palate, the attack is frank with an elongated structure that embodies the balance of this Champagne. A great match throughout the meal, this Champagne will pair well with simple dishes such as parma ham with melon and will also enhance more sophisticated foods such as a back of cod with white butter sauce.
