Vincent Renoir Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne NV

The vertiginous village of Verzy is perched on the northern escarpment of the Montagne de Reims overlooking a wide swath of the plains of the Champagne region. Each and every vineyard in this tiny hamlet has been designated 100% Grand Cru. Vincent Renoir and his son Adrien are the latest stewards in a long line of vignerons going back to the late 19th century. While their organically farmed vineyards represent a mere ten acres of this highly regarded corner of Champagne, the Renoir family takes great pride in tending to each and every one of their vines by hand. The experience, knowledge, and tradition of making fine Champagne continue to be passed from one generation to the next. 

This mouthwatering, bright, and creamy cuvée is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay from the Renoir family estate. A whopping 30% of this bottling is comprised of special reserve wine from the esteemed 2007 and 2008 vintage. The wine is allowed to rest on its lees for a full 72 months (as opposed to the required 24 months) which imparts notes of nuttiness and warm brioche to the final, exquisite taste. Finely integrated bubbles transport aromas of baked apple and citrus blossom to the nose, while the palate delights in crisp acidity and a broad mouthfeel. This small production, family-owned Grand Cru represents one of the greatest values to be found in all of Champagne!
