Revival Vineyards Field Guide Red Blend Napa Valley 2018

Who doesn’t love a good, well-priced red blend? As the saying goes, the sum is greater than its parts, which is also often the case with fine wine. Think of Bordeaux, Rhône, and Tuscany: throughout history and geography, winemakers have discovered that there are certain grapes that just play well together. Plus, winemakers love to tinker with their form of artistry, and a good blend of varietals allows them a broader palette with which to please your palate. We are delighted to announce the latest 2018 vintage of Revival Vineyards, Field Guide, Red Blend, Napa Valley. An ACME favorite since the debut 2012 vintage, this wine just keeps getting better. Another incredible vintage for this wine and at an astonishing price! 

Revival Vineyards is the family-owned label of a lovely couple who grew up in Napa Valley playing in the vineyards and working in their parents' wineries. Many years later, vineyard manager Sean Garvey and his wife Lindsay, whose family owns Buehler Vineyards, decided to pay tribute to their childhood and their family's grape growing and winemaking legacy. In 2012 Sean and Lindsay launched Field Guide, a "field blend” from some of their favorite vineyards and varietals. We put that inaugural vintage into our Under the Radar Club and sold out the winery from members’ re-orders. The seventh vintage has just been released with much anticipation, and again this year, we cannot believe this wine is only $58! 

A small production wine from the Garvey’s Revival label, Field Guide is a blend of 33% Cabernet Sauvignon 33% Cabernet Franc, and 33% Petit Verdot coming from the Rutherford Bench. This wine is big, rich, and voluptuous with dark, brooding fruit and distinct aromas of dark chocolate, pipe tobacco, and black licorice. Though plush on the palate, this wine has integrated tannins and perfectly balanced acidity, indicative of the stunning 2018 vintage!
