Paradigm Winery doesn’t rub shoulders with just anyone. The historic Oakville property
finds itself in astoundingly close proximity to such pedigreed neighbors as
Harlan, Heitz’s Martha’s Vineyard, and Opus One on its northern border. With a
focus on sustainable farming and classic techniques, the goal to preserve Napa
Valley history is and has always been paramount for Ren and Marilyn Harris.
They are true Napa Valley icons: winegrowers with extraordinarily deep roots in
Napa Valley. Marilyn's grandparents immigrated from Italy to Napa Valley in
1890, while Ren's family came to California in 1769. Marilyn and Ren moved to
Napa Valley in the 1960s and settled into their home just east of where
Paradigm sits today. Through a career in vineyard real estate, Ren learned much
about the diverse growing regions in Napa Valley. So in 1976, when they decided
to purchase vineyards of their own, Oakville was the clear choice. Paradigm
Winery was founded several years later and began producing wine with the 1991
vintage.

Heidi Barrett, who came to prominence in the 1990s for such celebrated
wines as Screaming Eagle and Dalla Valle, has been with the Harris family since
the beginning. The wines she makes at Paradigm, now one of her oldest clients,
are so deserving of their own spotlight — they are divine! Paradigm Winery maintains
a hands-on approach to all winemaking and vineyard operations with an
incredibly loyal team: nothing is outsourced. They employ one team year-round,
allowing each of their employees an opportunity to work in several different
roles. While they are best known for age-worthy, elegant Cabernet Sauvignon, this
classically styled rosé remains one of Paradigm’s most steadfastly popular

in the heart of Oakville and made with 100% Merlot, this wine is stunning. From
