La Ciboulette Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley 2019

La Ciboulette is a brand new project from power woman Heather Clark. Heather is no stranger to the hustle of family-owned wine brands. She and her husband Josh own and produce Saunter wines, under which they make the Swagger Cabernet that has almost a feverish and frenzied following, La Ciboulette is Heather’s first venture alone, and we are just enamored with what she has come up with! The name means chive in French, and is the nickname for Heather and Josh's youngest child at the French preschool she attended because she is so thin and small yet full of power and zest. The idea behind this label is to create fun, playful wines that are highly enjoyable and let us tell you, Heather nailed it! Coming from the Lam Bentz Vineyard in Pope Valley, this Sauvignon Blanc is 75% Clone 1 and 25% Musque. The small addition of Musque, we think, just makes this wine. It has a hint of that gooseberry and grass that is often associated with this clone, but it does not at all overpower the bright, fruitful notes of the Clone 1. The palate is crisp and refreshing with layers of grapefruit, pineapple and mango, and pith and zest on the finish. A perfect compliment to your picnic, porch swing or pool deck. Only 150 cases produced.
