In honor of International Women’s Day, we are leaning into the cornerstone of our business in which we share our discoveries of brand-new wine projects with you, and today, we are elated to share with you the launch of Une Femme Wines, a female-founded sparkling wine co. created with the mission of recognizing and championing women in the wine world. A Stanford University Grad, Founder, Jen Pelka, has a very impressive background in the hospitality, food, wine and public relations industry. She is known for being a lead influencer in marketing, PR and special projects for recognizable restaurants across the country and for leading lifestyle brands (Magnum PR, The Gilt Groupe, Restaurant Daniel by Daniel Boulud) before opening the ridiculously chic The Riddler Champagne Bar in both SF and NY. Jen has a diversified portfolio of talents and experience and we are so thrilled to celebrate this powerful female!

“The Callie,” a crushable sparkling rosé from beloved Napa winemaker Samantha Sheehan, who founded POE Wines back in 2009 after being inspired by the wines she tasted in both Burgundy and Champagne. Known for producing terroir-driven, honest and pure wines from heritage sites in Sonoma and Napa, Samantha’s goal is not to replicate Champagne, but rather to create site-specific wines revealing the beautiful terroir of California. She uses minimal intervention, minimal sulfur, and never any additives. This stunning sparkler is a blend 42% Pinot Noir with 39% Mourvèdre and 19% Chardonnay, resulting in a vibrant, shimmering rosé with flavors of ripe cranberry, juicy watermelon, and hard candies with flavors of pomegranate, ripe strawberry, and rose. Tremendously delicious on its own, yet formidable with an array of cuisine. Think harissa-roasted carrots with feta, fish tacos, pizza of any kind, French fries or spicy pork and shrimp dumplings.
