Although born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, far from the lush vineyards of France or California, Jeff began his love affair with wine early into his college career. While studying Chemistry and Psychology at the University of Arizona he came to enjoy wine while bartending at a prime steakhouse. Tasting some older vintages of first-growth Bordeaux, he realized what wine could really be.
Soon after, he sought out every tasting and seminar he could attend to supplement his education. However, it wasn't until he helped open a wine bar/retail shop that he was able to hone his palate. He had the opportunity to taste wine from all over the world and help hand select wines for local wine lovers!
While the work was fulfilling, he wanted to learn more about vitculture and winemaking and immerse himself in all that is wine. He cultivated his newfound passion by earning his Sommelier Certification and deciding to move to the Napa Valley. He packed all of his belongings into a U-Haul and, with the help of friends, discovered St. Helena and ultimately Acme Fine Wines.
